neither hysteric… nor glamorous. Discuss.

when i first heard of Japanese label, Hysteric Glamour a while back I remember thinking, “Oh my gawd, that sounds like something i want to be a part of.”

I’m already hysterical on many occasions when fashion is involved, and well… to up it a notch and mark it glamorous, it sounds wonderfully unnerving. It’s been mentioned in quite a few respectable fashion publications but I never got to view any pieces from any of their lines.

The name Hysteric Glamour conjures up images of crazed models in full runway makeup, backstage at a show, chainsmoking cigarettes and refusing to take the catwalk because “zee lighting ees bad”… or something equally as frivolous and disgustingly wonderful.

well kids.
imagine my letdown when i got to check the label out for myself. nothing hysterical except the corny wallet theyre pitching (for 17,000 yen.. 155 bucks) that says DETROIT on it. hysterical!!! but certainly not glamorous.

oh the pain.
only someone far far away from the US would think something with kid rock’s hometown on it would halfway double as fashionable or cool.

oh well. onward and upward.
